The Past in Alive in Verla
UNESCO's World Heritage Centre Verla is a unique attraction in northern Kymenlaakso. At the heart of the World Heritage Centre is a museum with a functioning groundwood and board mill. Guided tours take visitors back in time to old manufacturing methods and working conditions, and to the workers themselves. An entire factory village with restaurants, boutiques, workshops and Finnish handicrafts surrounds the museum.
