At the roots of culture

Maritime Centre Vellamo is exquisitely unique both inside and out. With a roof resembling a wave, the building houses the Maritime Museum of Finland, the Museum of the Kymi Region and the Vellamo Information Centre. Representing an earlier architectural style, the star-shaped historic centre of Hamina is an excellent place for exploration on foot for those interested in culture and history. The Bastion, the heart of the fortress built there in the 18th century, now serves as a venue for a variety of events.

The roots of the Moisio Manor House reach back through the centuries, and the past is very much in evidence in the grounds. Art exhibitions featuring the work of Finland’s top artists and sculptors are held at the manor. There is also a restaurant for private hire providing a venue for unforgettable parties.
