All municipalities in the Kymi region host a wide range of events especially in the summer, from small village festivities to large international festivals. The renowned events in the region include Kotka Maritime Festival, the international military music festival Hamina Tattoo, folk music festival Pelimannipäivät in Miehikkälä, music festival in Iitti, and archipelago market in Pyhtää.
