Maritime Centre Vellamo
The Maritime Centre Vellamo at the old City Port is an unequalled new building that was designed by architect Ilmari Lahdelma. Under its wave-like roof, the building houses the Maritime Museum of Finland, the Museum of the Kymi Region and the Information Centre Vellamo. Further experiences are provided by Restaurant Laakonki and the Plootu Museum Shop. The auditorium at the Maritime Centre, seating 213, is fitted with diverse, modern conference technology as well as an induction loop. The Ahti and Kaija teaching facilities can be used separately or combined into a single larger space. These facilities have all the basic accessories for meetings; and, as separate meeting rooms, they each provide seating for 32 people.
