Nature trails and outdoor recreational areas in Kotka

The Kotka region encompasses fantastic recreational areas with a range of nature trails and different terrains. The Santalahti nature trail is 4.5 km long and follows the coastline in places. There are two routes to choose from, with plenty of resting places along the way for lunch stops. The Räski-Karhuvuori nature trail passes from boggy depressions to a lofty cliff. There are several alternative route options along the 4.5-kilometre trail. There is also a shorter 2.5-kilometre route close to the city centre called Catherine's Trail. If you want to walk along the Kymijoki river, there are plenty of trails to choose from. Try the trails around Siikakoski, Langinkoski and Kyminlinna. The Langinkoski nature reserve is not far from the city centre. Here visitors can be transported back to the Imperial days to admire the roiling rapids.
