Kotka, Korkeakoski, River Kymijoki The fishing pier

Driving instructions
Take highway 7 (Helsinki-Vaalimaa). Exit the highway from Kotka, Korkeakosi sign. Follow signs for Korkeakoski towards Kymintie road. Drive about 3.5 km and turn right before the power plant (Voimalaitos) to the yard of Korkeakoski Kalastuskievari hotel.

Fihing area
Korkeakoski fishing pier is about 300 m long and is located right below the Korkeakoski power plant. The fishing pier could be reached by the steep stairs of Kalastuskievari down to the river shore. At the pier area the river is about 20-100 m broad with flowing water and depth of a a few metres (also shallow areas). There is a shelter and a campfire site at the shore. The pier is meant for maximum 50 people. Please book in advance during peak season. Check for private events on-line.

Catch species and minimun size
Sea Salmon 50 cm, Sea Trout 50 cm, Rainbow trout, Whitefish, (Pike-perch 40 cm)

Main rules        
No Spawn protection time
Fish could be hooked only in mouth.
Overwintering fishes are not to be killed through out the fishing season and all Salmon and Sea Trouts in spawning dress must be released during 1.10-31.5
Licence buyers of 18-64 years of age must have a valid state fishing license.
Angling with natural baits are prohibited
Fishes must be revived before releasing them back into water.
