Kouvola, Karijärvi lure fishing area

Driving instruction
When driving on road 15 in direction of Kotka-Heinola,  turn right in about 12 km  past  Jaala to Siikavaa/Aurantola.
Follow signs for Aurantola and turn to Herransaarentie road. Drive untill you reach the shore past Aurantola.

Other ramps
There is a boat ramp in Karijärvi lake that is well suited for small boats.
Another ramp is at the west/north-west end, next to the swimming beach
(along Rihuntie road to the shore)

Fishing area
Karijärvi Lake covers 1100 hectares, and the joint permit covers the whole lake,
except some small areas at Lammassaari and the north-western edge of the lake located in the bay.
Karijärvi is well known for Lake Salmons. Check carefully for the exact authorised areas, and the rules
from authorised licence dealers.

Lake Salmon, Trout, Whitefish

Minimum size
Trout 50 cm, Lake Salmon 50 cm, Pike-perch 40 cm

Lure fishing licence        
For 18-64 yers old: Finnish state fishing licence fee (always when using spin fishing rod or fly fishing), in addition:
lure fishing licence OR lake fishing is possible with a provincial approval (1 rod = 1 lure) Angling and ice fishing are free of charge.
